It's easy

This
library can be easily loaded into AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT's menu bar for
quick access. Full instructions are included. There's no need to browse
through folders every time you need to insert a steel shape. It's user-friendly
interface allows you to simply point and click to choose from a wide range
of steel shapes. |
Once
loaded in AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT, "Steel Library" will appear in the menu
bar.

Choose
the steel shape you need from the pull-down menu. |

the steel shape block in your layout and rotate into position. |

Details about the blocks:
This
library was created using the dimensions you'll find in the "AISC Manual
of Steel Construction, Load & Resistance Factor Design Volume 1, Second
Edition". Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy, but in some instances
fillet dimensions are not defined in this version of the AISC Manual and
were taken from older versions of the manual. It is recommended that if
these dimensions are critical, reference should be made to the certified
dimension sheet obtainable from the steel shape manufacturer.

You'll
be able to select from a wide range of steel shapes, each drawn at a scale
of 1:1 and on layer zero with "Byblock" attributes. Once inserted, simply
rotate the shape into position and it will be to scale and will take on
the characteristics of your current layer settings. The Byblock attribute
allows you to override your current layer's settings, giving you the ability
to change the color or linetype of the symbol without exploding it.

Crosshatching
is not included with the blocks because it is usually on a separate layer
and color. The insertion point of each shape is at a midpoint common
to each particular steel shape. |
An additional
bonus:
All
of the steel shape blocks are drawn as closed polylines or regions.
If you're creating a 3D steel layout, all you have to do is insert the
shape you need, explode it, and then extrude it. |
